| Zusammenfassung: | The aim of this master´s thesis was to investigate the art-historical context, the history of the object and the question of the manufacturing process of the 19th-century winged altarpiece from the St. Andreas parish in Springe from a conservation Science perspective. These investigations were intended to confirm or refute theories put forward in the 20th century. In addition to non-invasive examination methods such as condition and damage reports, minimally invasive methods such as the examination of taken samples, as well as dendrochronological examination were also carried out. The results show that the altarpiece is in urgent need of conservation treatment, that two of the three dendrochronologically examined sculptures originate from a time after the completion of the altarpiece, and that, based on the evaluated sample stratigraphy, there must have been at least one further major modification of the altarpiece after 1862. The results of this work provide the basis for further research into the altarpiece of the St. Andrew´s parish in Springe. |
