Abstract: This study examines the attempt of solution for gluing broken wood in conservation practice. The
task of this investigation is a start of a solution by developing a tool box for gluing broken wood
suitable regarding to the objects. The tool box grounds on two test series. First producing
bending fractures made by Ramin and Oak, second gluing them for finally testing their durability
by breaking them again.
The main factors investigated and tested were clamping pressure and bond strength. Bone glue,
Plextol B 500 and Tylose MH 1000 have been the tested adhesives.
Test series took pattern from bending test DIN 52 186.
