Abstract: | The thesis deals with the development and testing of a chemical paste for removing stains of coloured copper salts from marble and other calcite containing building materials. In several test series on specimen the suitability and other properties like absorbency and removability of different cleaning pastes have been investigated. Amongst other substances, the individual pastes contain ammonia, ammonium carbonate, or EDTA, respectively. Best results were obtained with a paste containing ammonium carbonate. Using this paste it was possible to remove partially stains from a marble pedestal which is positioned in front of castle "Neue Kammern" in the "Sanssoucie" park in Potsdam. |
