Abstract: | Finding a suitable adhesive proved to be the main problem during the restoration fo two glass vessels ( „Keulengläser“ ), from an excavation site in Naumburg. Before dealing with this problem the objects were documented concerning their condition upon arrival at the museum. A short analysis of the archaeological context is also part of this diploma dissertation. The focus of this dissertation however lies in developing a prototype of a reactive acrylate-adhesive for the joining of archaeological glass objects. This type of adhesive allows combine the processing qualities of a reactive adhesive with the outstanding aging properties and reversibility of the acrylates. |
