Abstract: | The stability of dammar- and hydrated cyclohexane resin-(Laropal K 80) and hydrogenated hydrocarbon resin coatings (Regalrez 1126), mixed with light stabilizers are examined. The viscosity and absorbencies of the dissolved resins are determined. Both freshly applied layers, and thermic and photochemically matured layers are established, where change of colour, hardness, drying properties, dirtying properties, resistance against humidity and resolvability are concerned. The results of this experiment should help determine, whether the use of light stabilizers for those materials examined, should be recommended for protection in the fields of conservation and restoration. |
