Desiree Rinne: Practice-related studies on the ATP / AMP measurement for checking the quality of cleaning works back

Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: This bachelor’s thesis shall cover the procedure of the ATP/AMP bioluminescence assay in the field of paper conservation. Bevor and after dry cleaning an ATP assay is conducted regulary to check the success of the surface cleaning. The procedure of this assay found in the literature will be compared to the practice. The area size and the time of measurement will be examined. The procedure in practice will be captured at two locations of the „Niedersächsiches Landesarchiv“ an archive in the Lower Saxony. The archive uses the Lumitester PD-20. There is a difference between the procedure found in the literature and the one examined. The upper limit of the assay and the meaning of the RLU value will be discussed. There have been no empirica study to determined an upper limit and the procedure has too many variables. Therefore the limits are not comparable. Because of the changes the manufacturers can make in the setting determing the value of the RLU it is also not recommended to compare the value.
