Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: This diploma thesis comprises the examination of six late gothic wooden sculptures. They were originally part of an altar screen which belonged to the church of Weißbach near Chemnitz. Two wings of the same altar are currently presented in the church.
The diploma documents the technical analysis and a damage detection. Based on those a concept was made for the conservation. At the end of the theoretical part follows a debate about different possibilities of presenting the sculptures again.
