Abstract:	This thesis aims to develop a comprehensive plan for the preservation and presentation of the crucifixus at the Moritzkirche in Naumburg. All relevant issues of statics, conservation and aesthetics will be closely examined in this context. With a view to a later suspension special attention will be paid to the treatment of fissures and fractures, to the study of appropriate plaster addition materials for reconstructing missing parts, and to the colour scheme.
