This Thesis deals with the history of displaying paintings, the criteria for an “ideal” way of hanging paintings, the practical application and examples of use of different ways to display paintings by hanging and the hanging methods and systems in the museum or elsewhere. The essential point of this Thesis is the functionality, compatibility and practicability of popular devices and systems for displaying paintings by hanging.
