Abstract: In this 30-minute video the technology of the marquetry "à la mosaïque" has been reconstructed. The study of the technology orientates itself at the works of David Roentgen whose workshop invented this kind of marquetry in the end of the 18th century. The creation of new methods by the combination of sawing and dyeing procedures represents itself by a well applied play of shadow and light. It is also known as “painting in wood”.
The recording work has been prepared, accompanied and evaluated in a written documentation.
