Language: Original   -   Translation
Abstract: Due to a wrong treatment with the rubber cement product „Fixogum“ that mainly consists of natural rubber, 43 of Otto Modersohn drawing made on different kinds of papers have been, from the esthetical point of view, lagrely reduced in their value. They can not to be exhibited.
But it is not only a question of esthetical reduction of value. Also the Paper`s substance as such is in danger because of it`aging process as well as the one of the rubber. Therefore it is important to reduce the rubber from the paper.
In order that the three exemplary shouldn`t be put under stress by tests, samples were used and their process of aging accelerated up to the point that finally they would show the same damages as the original drawings. Now the solvent`s tests could been made with the samples, aiming at finding a product as nontoxic as possible. The best results were achieved by a mixture of Cyclohexan/Ethanol (1:1) und Cyclohexan/Aceton (1:1).
Thanks to these mixtures the stains on the papers were widley reduced and the esthetic aspect thus resored.
