Miriam Demandewitz: Plasticine – considerations and tests on the conservation of a projection model from the estate of Heinrich Wendel back

Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: Projection models consisting of the material plasticine were created by the set-designer Heinrich Wendel in the 1960s and 1970s for different stage productions at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. A systhematic condition survey of the projection modells, based on a specific form, revealed the grades of the condition and the extent of the damages. The survey findings and further research on plasticine resulted in considerations on the conservation of the projection modells. These discussions led to tests on samples of plasticine. As a result an adhesive and filler were found which are suitable for use in the conservation of the projection models.
