Abstract: The Nord- or Brautportal of the St. Petrus cathedral in Osnabrück is made in the second quarter of 13. century.
The origininal stone is Teutoburger Sandstein, type "Oesede" or "Dörenberg".
The original material is very different. You can find very much parts of clay in it. This is the reason for the different decomposition. The whole porch is been consolidatet with tetraethoxysilikat in the seventies of the last century.
The main attention of these study is the analysis and the following concept of conservation. The combination between the previous conservation with the following result of damaging and the natural deterioration is a special challenge for the conservation.
