Zusammenfassung: | : The diploma thesis comprised the investigation and the treatment of a repeatedly conserved pilgrim flask. The fragmentary vessel from Baalbek/ Lebanon is dated in the 13th/ 14th century A.D., the time of the Mamluks. The relief patterns of the flask are formed by using moulds. The investigations refer to the aged materials of conservation and the technological features of the object. A critical evaluation of the existing condition leads to the decision of a new treatment. The main emphasis of the conservation lies in the removal of the aged materials, these adhere to the porous ceramic surface very strong. The basement of the treatment of the pilgrim flask are tests on the use of solvent gels, -pastes and –poultices as soon as citrates. |
