Zusammenfassung: | This dissertation deals with the conservation of a tray made of copper, which was found at the citadel Aleppo/Syria in 1998 together with other metal artifacts. After the historical classify of the object the technological and scientific survey of the manufacture, the decoration and tinning as well as the inscription of the tray occurs. Special attention is situated at the exposure with regard to the thick layer of cuprous chlorides caused by a high chloride content and the underlying tinning. For that different tests will take place to assess the suitability of the tested methods for exposing the tray. In the result the object will be expose with an ultrasonic chisel and the scalpel. After the discussion of the pros and cons of different methods to remove the salts, the conservation occurs by inhibition with Benzotriazole and an combined coating of Paraloid B 48-N and TeCero 30222. |
