Zusammenfassung: The fragmented funeral crown from Thaldorf,
Saxony-Anhalt, has several textiles, Lahn braid fragments, boxwood leaves and wood. The
objective of the bachelor´s thesis is to
reconstruct the funeral crown and its individual
components and to subsequently discuss its
presentation. The materiality, the state of
preservation, the manufacturing techniques and
the function of the components were analysed
through scientific investigations, comparative
objects and literature. For most elements, the
function and appearance within the funeral
crown could be presented. The reconstruction of
the funeral crown was realised in five theses. The
funeral crown can be exhibited digitally as an
original, in drawings or as a three-dimensional
object.
