Knowledge of art technology is crucial in order to be able to develop suitable conservation and restoration methods for art and cultural assets. For this reason, this work is dedicated to the topic of press brocade, both from an art technology and a restoration point of view. The evaluation of historical source fonts is an effective means of exploring art technologies. These sources serve as an orientation for reconstructions, which enables a better understanding of technology and expands the topic from a practical point of view. Since knowledge of art technology and the materials used is of great importance for the preservation of art as well as cultural assets, this topic should be the main focus of this work. In the last part of the work, possible conservation and restoration methods and materials, as well as conservation strategies, are discussed.
