Zusammenfassung: | The thesis introduces a new method to separate blocked paper by using the volatile binding agent Cyclododecane. Cyclododecane thereby functions as a temporary stabilizer of the unstable paper. The paper would otherwise not be able to withstand the strain of the mechanical separation. During the separation, the remaining cohesion of the fiber in the surface area of the sheets is temporarily stabilized with crystallized Cyclododecane, thus increasing it beyond the adhesion or cohesion effect of the blocking material respectively. In the thesis, the method is introduced as an instruction also featuring occupational safety aspects. The newly developed separation method is evaluated through an analysis, discussing the underlying functional principle and explaining the results and observations made during the implementation stage. |
Fragile, blocked papers are stabilized with a Cyclododecan solution for mechanical separation.
