Zusammenfassung: | The baroque guitar made around 1684, from the collection of musical instruments of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum Nürnberg (inv.-no.: MI 57), is, due to its stylistic and constructive characteristics, attributed to the Hamburg instrument maker Joachim Tielke (1641-1719). Two characteristics emphasize the guitar among the 174 historically transmitted instruments of Tielke: First, the marquetry of frame and bottom is glued without a substrate and made of two different woods without adding precious materials. Second, the bottom inclusive marquetry is curved in longitudinal and transverse direction. In addition to the presentation of the guitar and its art and cultural-historical context, there is a special focus on the analysis of the manufacturing technique and its practicability in an experimental reconstruction. |
