Zusammenfassung: | The exposed position in which tombs are mostly situated, impose specific burdens. The material – wood - is subject to a natural degradation process. These indications are clearly visible at the tomb of Eva Scheel, one of the oldest tombs at the churchyard of Prerow. The intended conservation of this object is based on studies to clarify the extent of damages and their causes. Four alternative conservations concepts have been created to maintain the current condition and to re- erect the object with its necessary procedures. This includes the application of preventive conservation measures. With these concepts, measures should be identified to implement a conservation. |
