| Abstract: | Aquazol 500 is characterized by a wide range of properties that make it a potentially useful material in conservation. This study investigates the suitability of Aquazol 500 as a consolidation medium for tin and as an adhesive to attach tin to wood. Three different solvents and two concentrations were tested. Methods such as gloss level measurement, tensile shear tests and empirical tests on optical and haptic changes were used for evaluation, both before and after artificial ageing by UV-C radiation and humidity fluctuations. The aim of the study is to test the ageing resistance of Aquazol 500 and to assess its suitability for restora-tion consolidation measures. |
