| Zusammenfassung: | In this bachelor’s thesis, various cellulose ethers are evaluated for their suitability as an adhesive for low-fired ceramics in museums. Based on research, criteria for evaluating the suitability of an adhesive are established and used on the research topic of using cellulose ethers as an adhesive for low-fired ceramics. The criteria are adhesive strength, ageing behaviour, material compatibility and optical changes, reversibility, workability, safety for humans and environment und availability and costs. The focus is on the criterion of adhesive strength. It will additionally be determined and evaluated through tests on the adhesive strength of ceramical test specimens. This thesis shall give a first, critical answer on the question about if, and under which criteria, cellulose ethers can be used as an alternative adhesive for the restoration of low-fired ceramics. |
