| Zusammenfassung: | Around the mid-19th century, coloured inlays began to appear on furniture. To date these are little researched, just as their characteristic damage pattern (cracks, warping and losses). The aim of this work is to develop a consolidation method to reduce the risk of further material losses. For this purpose, test samples with coloured inlays are manufactured to investigate different methods using combinations of heat and moisture exposure for the reattachment of the fragments. Depending on the composition of the coloured inlays, they react differently to the treatments. This highlights that each object can have different requirements for the consolidation. The test samples demonstrate the different risks of each method and the potential for material damage. The most promising method seems to be the combination of working with indirect heat and moisture, so it is chosen for testing it on the objects with coloured inlays. |
