Zusammenfassung: In the Kayser-Henke House at the Detmold Open-Air Museum, the restorers on site have identified and removed a mold infestation on the furniture twice. As part of this master´s thesis, the possible causes of the infestation as well as its current extent were investigated. Furthermore, the cleaning results of the mold removal were evaluated, and measures for further handling of the house were developed. Different investigative methods were employed for this purpose. Using data loggers, the climate inside the house was analysed, and infrared thermography along with microwave measurement techniques were used to examine the physical causes of the mold infestation. The evaluation of the cleaning results and the assessment of the current state of the mold infestation were carried out through air analysis and measurements of ATP and AMP. The high relative humidity, existing thermal bridges and moisture inside the walls provide the basis for another mold growth. Therefore, possible measures were described that could prevent further mold development. These include, among other things, regular cleaning, as experiments have shown that this can at least temporarily reduce mold concentrations. The results of this work form an important foundation for future measures and contribute to preserving the Kayser-Henke House as well as its inventory in the future.
